Krista Barton

Reflexology and massage in Liverpool, Nova Scotia.

An hour where nothing is asked of you. You keep your clothes on, you lie back, and I do the rest.

If you have never had reflexology before, that is completely normal. Most people booking have not. There is nothing you need to know first and nothing you need to say.

Before you book

What actually happens in a session.

Most people who book have never had reflexology before, and a few are quietly unsure about it. Here is the whole thing, start to finish, so none of it is a surprise.

  1. You stay dressed

For reflexology, only your shoes and socks come off. You sit back or lie down, covered and warm. That is the whole preparation.

  2. We talk first

A chat about how you have been feeling, anything sore, anything you would rather I left alone. Your first visit is ninety minutes rather than sixty precisely so this part is not rushed.

After that first time it is a couple of minutes, not half an hour. And if you would rather not talk at all, say so and we start. That happens often and it is completely fine.

  3. Then it goes quiet

I work across the whole foot with firm, even pressure. Some spots feel tender for a second and then ease off. If anything is too much, tell me and I lighten up right away. You will not offend me.

  4. You can fall asleep

Plenty of people do. There is no part of this you have to stay awake for and nothing you need to be doing while it happens.

  5. Afterwards, take your time

Sit up slowly and have some water. Give yourself a few minutes before you drive. Some people feel loose and sleepy for the rest of the day, some feel clear headed. Both are normal.

  6. There is no pressure to rebook

If you want another one, book it. If you do not, that is genuinely fine. I would rather you came back because you wanted to.

One honest note: reflexology is comfort and relaxation care. It is not medical treatment and it does not replace advice from your doctor. If something hurts in a way that worries you, please see them first.

The person you are booking

Hello, I am Krista.

I run Holistic Heelin’ on my own, from a quiet room at my home in Liverpool. The person you speak to on the phone is the same person who does the treatment, every time.

One person is booked at a time, so you will not pass anyone on the way in and nobody is waiting for you to finish.

What I care about most is simple. You should leave feeling better than you arrived, and nobody should feel rushed, judged or talked at while they are on my table.
